Design and Analysis of Fixed-Bed Catalytic Reactors
The 8th lecture in the series of educational events in the heterogeneous catalysis organized by ZIOC RAS, Haldor Topsoe A/S (Denmark) and the Russian Catalytic Society was held at ZIOC RAS.
The invited lecturer was Dr. Vladilen A. Makhlin (Karpov R&D Center and Lomonosov Moscow University of Fine Chemical Technologies) who presented a lecture “Design and Analysis of Fixed-Bed Catalytic Reactors”.
The lecturer addressed the issues of designing and analyzing adiabatic reactors for essential catalytic processes such as methanol synthesis, isoamylene dehydration, and methanol and ammonium oxidation. Dr. Makhlin gave a detailed description of equipment for acetylene hydrochlorination, oxidative acylation and partial oxidation of ethylene and о-xylene, and low temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Particular attention was paid to parametric sensitivity and troubleshooting such as runaway.
The next lecture of the course has been scheduled for April 26 2017.
