The article published by a scientist from the Zelinsky Institute became the choice of the editors of a highly rated journal

10 march 2022 г.

The review “Synthesis and Reactivity of 3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thiones”, published by the Head of the Laboratory of Polysulphur-Nitrogen Heterocycles O.A. Rakitin in the highly rated journal Molecules, was selected as the Editor's Choice Article.

The manuscript is devoted to polysulfur-containing heterocycles 3H-1,2-dithiol-3-thiones, which are a source of hydrogen sulfide, an endogenously produced gaseous signal molecule. The review covers the latest developments in the synthesis of these heterocycles, including both well-known approaches and new transformations for the construction of the 1,2-dithiol-3-thione ring. Various transformations of the 3H-1,2-dithiol-3-thione cycle into other heterocyclic systems are also considered, including 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, substitution of one or two sulfur atoms with the formation of carbon- and carbon-nitrogen-containing fragments.

The selection of articles in the "Editor's Choice Articles" is based on the recommendations of scientific journal editors. Editors select a small number of recently published articles that they believe will be of particular interest to the authors or important in the field. The aim is to provide a brief overview of some of the most interesting papers published in the journal's various research areas.
