Active nitronylnitroxylating reagents were obtained at the ZIOC

Nitronyl nitroxides serve as key building blocks in the molecular design of magnets, in the development of redox and photoswitchable paramagnetic systems, and in the development of components for organic and hybrid batteries. This is the reason for the importance of searching for new reagents that provide efficient synthesis of nitronyl nitroxy radicals.

With the participation of several scientific divisions of the Zelinsky Institute (Laboratory of Paramagnetic Materials and Molecular Spin Systems, Laboratory of Metal Complex and Nanoscale Catalysts, Laboratory of Chemistry of Carbenes and Other Unstable Molecules), new organogold derivatives of nitronyl nitroxide were obtained and characterized, which, due to their high thermal stability and increased reactivity, are able to enter into palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with aryl bromides. This discovery opens up new possibilities for the design of various paramagnetic systems, which are interesting both from the point of view of magnetism and the creation of new materials.
